I was amused to note that a couple of anti-gay preachers were denied entry to the UK recently. It could be seen as part of a disturbing trend, a sort of censorship mechanism. Normally, people like this would be allowed in and the BBC could be relied upon to broadcast the politically correct and sanitised version of events to make everyone happy again. Maybe with all the global warming stories, the BBC has lost some of its credibility.
Luckily the Home Office is there to step in.
Given the information reported by the BBC, it is hard to see the Phelps having much of an influence on public debate. They are out there with the environmentalists in their grasp of reality.
For this reason and others I think it is very worrying that the British government has decided to ban their entry. This smacks of the sort of thing one might expect from Iran, not the UK. Bad Britain, bad.
