You can assume that, after a few decades, all coal would be gone. Mankind would have to learn to live without it. I hope more environment-friendly alternative energy sources could be found when that happens.

New Zealand has at least 1000 years of coal still in the ground.


There is so much coal left, it is virtually certain that we will lose interest in it long before we run out.

Or do you mean that environmentalists will have succeeded in banning coal mining within a few decades? That I can believe.
